“A natural observer of nature, Nick is a hugely talented artist.  His technical ability is second to none and his mastery of watercolour paint is outstanding” Sam Barnes, Woodbridge

Watercolour Painter & Art Teacher

Nick has been drawing and painting since he could pick up a pencil and is happy to retain some of that same childlike wonder, when observing nature. He has no academic Art qualifications but has always ‘kept his hand in’, and has lately been teaching watercolour one-to-one and to various art groups. Nick has followed a varied career trajectory as a surveyor, then a musician – producing progressive dance records in the ‘90’s – and for the last 20 years as a landscape and garden design professional, leading a Foundation Degree course and now training horticulture apprentices at Suffolk New College. He can often be seen brandishing his guitar, bashing out blues and funk or playing his electronic music in and around Woodbridge, or walking in the Suffolk countryside with his wife, son and dog.

Recently, Nick has hit a rich vein of creativity and is prolifically producing water colours, with additional media, which he is constantly developing and is strongly inspired by Suffolk’s landscapes, plant forms and seasonal changes, and the territory where science, philosophy and metaphysics meet. He also loves to paint urban landscapes and people and has exhibited at several venues in Suffolk recently.
